The Legend of Wings over Kaufman - Seagoville - Seven Points

Check Out Red's Oyster Bar in Seven Points!

A short time ago in a land far, far away there lived three brothers. One liked the restaurant business, one liked to fish and hunt, and one traveled the world. They were so different no one thought they would ever land together; BUT THEY DID.

All three were cooks by trade and training; and so was born the idea of a unique casual restaurant with very reasonable prices and great tasting food. One day the Dallas Morning News restaurant editor slipped in and ate some of the brother's fine fair. She was amazed at the quality of the food and the unique restaurant decor. A real airplane was located in the center of the restaurant. The building was silver colored and oddly shaped (a quonset hut). A mismatch of tables and chairs covered the main floor. On the walls and tables were pictures of airplanes from around the world, and 5 TVs hung from the ceiling (Not including the TVs in the restrooms), showing all manner of news and sports events.

After the meal she (Dotty Griffith)called in her camera crew and took pictures of the brothers and awarded them a 3 STAR restaurant rating saying," The (Wicked Chicken Sandwich) boneless chicken breast is thick, and with accoutrements of grilled onions bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo and jalapenos, IT IS A MOUTHFUL. It's also one of the better chicken sandwiches around, the rival of a really good burger. The Wing's burger isn't anything to scoff at either. Wings over Kaufman offers substantial fare to this small East Texas town."

And so the legend was born of the strange silver colored metal building in Kaufman, Texas where the common man (or woman) could partake of exceptional fare at a reasonable price.Soon word spread near and far about the brother's menu of good things to eat. Wings, chicken sandwiches, burgers, and salads were made fresh to each customer's individual order. Nothing was prepared in advance and the meats and produce arrived daily from the markets in Dallas, Texas. (Not exactly fast food but almost.......about 12 minutes.)

Sure and confident the brother's traveled to Seagoville, Texas on Hwy 175, and Seven Points, Texas, where they opened a second & third location to better serve their growing list of satisfied customers.

THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT DINE-IN & DRIVE THRU CHAIN ................... and may the Burgers, Wings, Chicken Sandwiches, Salads, and Seafood at Red's Oyster Bar be with you.
